           Padmashri Dr.Vithalrao Vikhe Patil, who is the pioneer of cooperative sugar factory in Asia, has established the Padmashri Vikhe Patil college in 1971. The department of physical Education in this college has been also started in the same year.

            Sportsman holding positions at national and all India inter university tournaments are given exemption in college fees and are provided free hostel facility.

           The department has enough sport materials for training in regular athletics and games. The college has a good playground with grounds for Foot ball, Hockey, Cricket, 400 mts.   1. Miss Prachi Burud represented Maharashtra cricket (Women) team at national level in Jan. 2006 at Hazaribagh
      (Jharkhand)

2. Miss Kavita Patil represented Maharashtra cricket (Women) team at national level in Dec. 2007 at Hyderabad. (A.P.)  

3. Miss Manisha Pawar represented Maharashtra Football (women) team at National level in Nov. 2007 at Mahesana
   (Gujarat)  

4. Miss Anuja Kal represented Maharashtra cricket (Women) team at national level in Nov. 2008 at Surat (Gujarat)

5. The college has hosted All India Sub-Junior cricket (Women) Championship Dec. 2004.

6. The college is regularly hosting Pune University Inter Group, inter collegiate tournaments.

8.Our department have recently received grand of Rs.1 crore 15 lakh from UGC for the development of sport
   infrastructure.

    Our Inspiration


Padmashri Dr. Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil, the pioneer of Sugar Co-operative movement, who had a humble beginning, was chiefly instrumental in, organizing the much exploited sugarcane 'growers of the 44 villages, in and around Pravaranagar, way back in 1948, and establishing Asia's first co-operative sugar factory, which was commissioned in 1950.
