WELCOME TO DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY.

              Pravara Rural Education Society’s Padamashri Vikhe Patil Arts, Science& Commerce College Pravaranagar established in 1971. The Department of History was started in 1971 with Pre Degree course. Batchelor Degree course in [special] History was started in 1977 while Post Graduate program was started in June 1993. *The students got passed out from our department achieved great success in their life. The faculty attends State, National and International level Seminars. Many students are working in government & Private Field [Teaching field, Police service, Indian Army, etc.] History department gives through guidance of SET & NET Examination .

                 The Department has two Faculty members and both are SET& NET Qualified Head of Department is Registered for PhD Course. and completed a Minor Research Project Funded by University Grant Commission. He has written a history of Gogalgaon Under Samarth Bharat Abhiayan of Pune University. He has written’ A History of Aurangpur’ under National Service Scheme. He is working as a Program Officer of National Service Scheme from 2007- 2008 to still Mr. S .V Nile has submitted Proposal of Minor Research Project to U.G.C. He is co writer for “A History of Aurangpur”. He is giving guidance to students SET & NET Exams and Competitive Exams.

                 Dept of History has separate section, there is a 10x12 cabin available for administration therefore cupboard, Table and chairs available and separately classroom facility 40x30 seating arrangement is comfortable in classroom.

               Department of History has a separate Departmental library available for students with 110 books & 5 research journals . Student get benefited from this facility

Padmashri Dr. Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil, the pioneer of Sugar Co-operative movement, who had a humble beginning, was chiefly instrumental in, organizing the much exploited sugarcane 'growers of the 44 villages, in and around Pravaranagar, way back in 1948, and establishing Asia's first co-operative sugar factory, which was commissioned in 1950.
