Design Innovation Centre, Pravaranagar

It is a great privilege for the institute, being selected to establish DIC by SavitribaiPhulePune University, Pune for promoting culture of innovative design in rural areas. The problems arising in rural areas are itself great opportunities for creative minds.

DIC’s aim is to train such creative minds to take these challenges and come out with useful solutions and to convert it into products. It provides an opportunity to give hands-on training to students. It encourages use of technology to solve developmental problems and increases pace and efficiency.

Wokshop on “ Intellectual property Policies/ Procedures, Awareness & Sourcing Inventions” Guest Speaker: Ms. Kalyani Ahir, Manager, Innovation and IP Innov-accel Pvt LTD, an Indian subsidiary to a US based organisation Vajrasoft Inc. Currently managing innovation IP at SPPU

Visit of DIC, SPPU, Pune Hub Centre’s Officials.

Outcome:

Mr. Aher S. R., B. Sc. Electronics and Ms. Kharde H. S., M. Sc. Chemistry (Received a second the prize in project presentation) participated in the “Abhikalp 2018” a Intercollegiate Innovative Project Presentation Competition organized by SPPU, Pune during 18th June 2018.

Dr. Santosh Dighe, DIC Project Coordinator presented paper based on DIC research project in International conference on “Global Innovation and Recent Advances in Pharmaceutical Sciences” held at Dubai.

Future Plan

In the month of December a School and College Level Science Exhibition would be organized for receiving the new innovative ideas.
In the month of January, 2019 a visit to Nashik DIC would be organized.
In the month of January 2019 two days of workshop on Quadcopter and IOT Using Arduino would be organized in collaboration Finland Labs ( Unit of REVERT TECHNOLOGY Pvt. Ltd.) 176, First Floor Kakrola Housing Complex, Near Dwarka Metro Station, Delhi - 110078, Delhi, India.
